"Ovations!," the Chicago musicals-in-concert series modeled after New York City's "Encores!" series, will present Promises, Promises, Call Me Madam and The Boys From Syracuse in the 2001 season.

All three shows had separate "Encores!" concert stagings in Manhattan over the past several years. The goal of both series is to mount concert versions of seldom-performed works with the original orchestrations (and resident talent). Shows are done with script-in-hand.

At Chicago's Auditorium Theatre, Burt Bacharach and Hal David's Promises, Promises plays Jan. 31-Feb. 4; Irving Berlin's Call Me Madam is May 9-13; Rodgers and Hart's The Boys From Syracuse is Oct. 3-7.

Kevin Stites (Titanic, On the Town) is the "Ovations!" musical director. Marc Robin is the artistic director.

Subscriptions to the series are available by calling (312) 922 2110 ext. 0.
