Actress, singer, dancer and Broadway legend Chita Rivera is still looking to bring her revue Chita & All That Jazz to Broadway sometime this fall.

Rivera is currently performing the show in Atlantic City at Resorts International, where it will play until Aug. 23. Jazz has previously toured in Richmond, Baltimore, Norfolk, and San Francisco. The production was originally announced for a spring 1998 opening, but producers said no appropriate theatre was available.

Producer Richard Martini said he was still looking for an appropriate Broadway theatre but that "the theatres have suddenly become very tight again." Production spokesperson Susan Weaving said (Aug. 11) the start-up date producers were looking at was Nov. 1.

Weaving told PBOL the Atlantic City dates were booked in order to keep the six-person supporting cast intact.

All That Jazz presents a virtual history of Rivera's involvement in the theatre. The show included excepts and numbers form such Rivera landmarks as West Side Story, Sweet Charity, Chicago, The Rink, and Kiss of the Spider Woman. Rivera won Tony Award for the latter two roles.
