News Chitty's Michael Ball Releases New Solo CD Oct. 20; In-Store Appearance, Too Michael Ball, who recently starred in the West End blockbuster Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, will release his latest solo recording Oct. 20 in London.

Available on the EMI Liberty label, Ball's new disc is titled "A Love Story" and records, in song, the story of a relationship from start to finish. Ball recorded the CD in Manhattan, the day following the recent blackout, and it features a duet of "Me and My Shadow" with recent Nine Tony nominee Antonio Banderas. Among the other songs are Burt Bacharach's "God Give Me Strength," Jim Croce's "Time in a Bottle" and Robert Palmer's "She Makes My Day." The complete track listing for "A Love Story" follows:

Michael Ball made his Broadway debut as Alex in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Aspects of Love, a role he created on the London stage. His other London stage credits include The Pirates of Penzance, Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera, Passion and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Ball's numerous, best-selling solo recordings include "Centre Stage," "Christmas," "Live at the Royal Albert Hall," "The Movies," "The Musicals," "First Love," "Always" and "Michael Ball."

In related news, Ball will make an in-store appearance at the London show biz shop Dress Circle on Saturday, Oct. 25. Beginning at 1 PM, Ball will autograph copies of his new recording. Dress Circle is located at 57-59 Monmouth Street in Covent Garden, London.
