News Christopher Innvar, Robert Petkoff, Henny Russell Are Absurd at the Barrington Barrington Stage Company's new production of Alan Ayckbourn's Absurd Person Singular, the comedy of three British couples in three kitchens on three successive Christmas eves, begins Aug. 12. The troupe features Julia Coffey, BSC regular Christopher Innvar, Graeme Malcolm, Robert Petkoff, Henny Russell and Finnerty Steeves.

Performances play BSC's mainstage in Pittsfield, MA, to Aug. 29. Jesse Berger, artistic director of New York City's Red Bull Theater Company, directs. Ayckbourn is a 2010 Tony Award winner for Lifetime Achievement and the author of over 70 plays. Absurd Person Singular marks the first Alan Ayckbourn play presented at Barrington. Opening night is Aug. 15.

Coffey (Jane) appeared in Off-Broadway's The Widowing of Mrs. Holroyd; Innvar (Geoffrey) appeared in Broadway's 110 in the Shade; Malcolm (Ronald) was in Broadway's Equus and Translations; Petkoff (Sidney) was featured in Broadway's Ragtime and Fiddler on the Roof; Russell (Marion) was in Broadway's The Royal Family; and Steeves (Eva) was featured in BSC's Wonder of the World and Off-Broadway's Almost, Maine.

The creative team includes Jo Winiarski (set design), Sara Jean Tosetti (costume design), Peter West (lighting design) and Brad Berridge (sound design). Kristen van Gindhoven is assistant director. Renee Lutz is the production stage manager.
