Tony winner Christopher Plummer (Cyrano) was awarded Best Supporting Actor for "Beginners," and Jessica Chastain (Othello at the Public) was named Best Supporting Actress for her work in the films "Coriolanus," "The Debt," "The Help," "Take Shelter," "Texas Killing Fields" and "Tree of Life."

As previously announced, Oscar nominee Doris Day ("Pillow Talk") received the 2011 Career Achievement Award.

"Equally at home in snappish romantic comedies and more dramatic fare, Day was the biggest female star of the 1960s, giving a series of delightfully perceptive performances," said LAFCA president Brent Simon in a statement. "LAFCA is thrilled to be able to honor her."

Other notable wins included "The Descendants" as Best Picture, "Rango" as Best Animated Picture, Terrence Malick as Best Director for "Tree of Life," Michael Fassbender as Best Actor for "Shame" and Yun Jung-Hee as Best Actress for "Poetry."
