News Christy Altomare, Mary Jo Mecca, Nicholas Kohn, Pat McRoberts Added to NAMT Festival; Painted Alice Joins Showcase Christy Altomare, Mary Jo Mecca and Nicholas Kohn are the latest actors to join the National Alliance for Musical Theater's October Festival of New Musicals, which will be presented Oct. 11-12 at New World Stages.

Altomare (Carrie), Mecca (Little House on the Prairie) and Kohn (Avenue Q) join the cast of Sleeping Beauty Wakes by Groovelily band members Brendan Milburn, Rachel Sheinkin and Valerie Vigoda. They replace previously announced cast members Vanessa Ray, Annie Golden and Timothy Warman due to scheduling conflicts.

Pat McRoberts (Miss Saigon) joins the cast of the Ben Clark-Beth Turcotte musical The Circus in Winter, replacing the previously announced Steve Routman.

As previously announced, the 2012 Songwriters Showcase, which highlights shows in development at NAMT's member organizations, will be hosted by Tony Award-winning Memphis writer Joe DiPietro and Tony-nominated actress Nancy Opel (Memphis, Urinetown).

Joining the showcase is Painted Alice by William Donnelly and Michael Mahler, with Teddy Bergman (Peter and the Starcatcher) performing.

The Showcase will also include Amazing Grace (book by Christopher Smith and Arthur Giron; music and lyrics by Christopher Smith) with Harriet Foy (Mamma Mia!); Careless Love (by Ryan Dunkin); First Date (book by Austin Winsberg; music and lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner) with Kelly Karbacz from the world-premiere cast; Fly By Night (conceived by Kim Rosenstock; written by Will Connolly, Michael Mitnick and Kim Rosenstock); Harmony, Kansas (book and lyrics by Bill Nelson; music by Anna K. Jacobs) with Matt Castle (Company), Joel Esher, Bryan Scott Johnson (Mamma Mia!), Mike Maloney, Keith Potts, Paul Victor and Bruce Warren (The Road to Qatar); The Noteworthy Life of Howard Barnes (book and lyrics by Christopher Dimond; music by Michael Kooman) with Mitch Jarvis (Rock of Ages); and Who's Your Baghdaddy?
