Aspen Music Festival and School and Theatre Aspen join forces for a one-night-only concert production of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II’s South Pacific July 22 at 7:30 PM in the Benedict Music Tent in Aspen, Colorado.

The cast is headed by Anastasia star Christy Altomare as Nellie Forbush, Nathan Gunn as Emile de Becque, Leanne Cabrera as Liat, Ann Harada as Bloody Mary, Wicked star Ryan McCartan as Joseph Cable, and Spongebob Squarepants’ Brian Ray Norris as Luther Billis.

Tony nominee Lonny Price directs the performance, and Drama Desk Award winner Mary-Mitchell Campbell leads a 55-piece orchestra. The evening also features the Aspen Opera Center singers.

Premiering on Broadway in 1949, the South Pacific score includes “Some Enchanted Evening,” “There is Nothing Like a Dame,” and “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair.”
