News City Center and Carnegie Hall Finalize Partnership New York City Center and Carnegie Hall approved the details of their new partnership, which will focus on joint artistic collaborations such as festivals comprised of music, dance, theatre and musical theatre — the first of which will be offered in fall 2008.

Specific details about the festival will be announced in January 2008.

The partnership may provide opportunities for joint fundraising and marketing. The capital campaign fundraising for City Center's pending renovation, however, will be undertaken solely by City Center.

Each organization will retain its own board of trustees and its own non-profit status.

The companies first announced their intention to forge a relationship in December 2005.

Both complexes are located between 6th and 7th Avenues. City Center stretches from 55th to 56th Street, and Carnegie Hall stretches from 56th to 57th Street. City Center's mainstage hosts the Encores! musical theatre series and is the New York home of dance companies such as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theatre and Paul Taylor Dance Company. The complex also houses the two Off-Broadway spaces of Manhattan Theatre Club. Carnegie Hall, which focuses more on music, includes the Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, Weill Recital Hall and Zankel Hall.
