The acclaimed series, which currently offers five performances over one weekend (Thursday-Saturday at 8 PM, Saturday at 2 PM and Sunday at 6:30 PM), will now feature two additional performances: Wednesday at 7:30 PM and Sunday at 2 PM. The news was announced in a Feb. 10 newsletter sent to City Center subscribers.
In her letter, Hawley Abelow, vice president, marketing and communications, also described the many renovations that will be made to City Center prior to its new season. The renovations will result in the reconfiguration of seats, which will "deliver increased comfort and better sight lines but will also decrease the overall capacity of the theater from 2,750 to 2,200 seats."
Titles for the 2011-2012 Encores! season have yet to be announced; the current season will conclude with Where's Charley?, featuring Rebecca Luker and Howard McGillin, March 17-20.
