On May 11 the Commissioner of the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, Julie Menin, will read a letter from the mayor transforming 53rd Street (between Broadway and Eighth Avenue) to “Harnick and Bock Way,” as both the current Broadway revivals of Fiddler on the Roof at the Broadway Theatre and She Loves Me at Studio 54 share stage-door exits on West 53rd Street.

Sheldon Harnick and the late Jerry Bock composed the award-winning scores to both musicals. Harnick will also be inducted into the Ride of Fame today.

The lyricist, a recipient of the 2016 Lifetime Achievement Tony Award, will be joined by cast members from his two current Broadway shows with a tribute to the late Bock. Scheduled to attend are Fiddler's Danny Burstein, Ben Rapapport, Alexandra Silber, Jessica Vosk, George Psomas, Alix Korey, Jesse Kovarsky, Samantha Massell, Lori Wilner and Jennifer Zetlan and She Loves Me's Jane Krakowski, Laura Benanti, Zachary Levi, Byron Jennings, Nicholas Barasch and Tom McGowan. The ceremony begins at 12:30 PM.

Each honoree of The Ride of Fame is bestowed with a double-decker bus and a personal seat featuring a message from the honoree to the world. In addition to a seat for Harnick, there will be a seat to remember Mr. Bock.
