A pair of underwear land rich and beautiful Olivia Hastings in hot water in The Bloomers, Clark Gesner 's (You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown) adaptation of Somerset Maugham's play, The Letter. Bloomers runs at Off-Off-Broadway's Red Room May 10-21.

Set in a small Virginia town in 1930, The Bloomers finds Miss Hastings with a huge problem. The man she's shot dead -- defending her honor, she claims -- seems to not be at fault, as a pair of her panties surfaces in the possession of her victim's chauffeur and his slutty sister. But Miss Hastings is prepared to kill and kill again to protect herself in this comic thriller.

Gesner wrote the book, music and lyrics to Charlie Brown as well as musical revue of his works, The Jello is Always Red. He and Scott collaborated on three Off-Off-Broadway movie parodies, Down! Down! Down! Thirty Second To Hell (70's disaster movies), Bongo Fever! (island movies) and A Town Called Shame (westerns). Scott currently writes on her second MTV animated pilot, "good bitch."

Mark Finely directs the Bloomers cast including Brooks Braselman, Kristin Anne Geber, Celia Gentry, Andrew Firda, Joseph J. Menine, Beth Kirkpatrick, David R. Gordon, Scott and Andrew Elvis Miller.

Tickets are $12. Red Room is located at 85 East 4th Street. For reservations, call (212) 358-3804. -- By Christine Ehren
