News Cleo Higgins, Former Child Star and Finalist in the U.K.'s "The Voice," to Make West End Stage Debut in Thriller Live Cleo Higgins, former child star and finalist in the U.K.'s "The Voice" in 2013, where she was mentored by Will.i.am, is to make her West End stage debut in Thriller Live at the Lyric Theatre, beginning performances June 24 prior to a press opening June 26.

Like Michael Jackson, she was a successful child star — she was lead singer of the 90s group Cleopatra, and age 13, was signed to Madonna's Maverick label in the U.S. Like Jackson, too, she sang in a pop group with her siblings that was also managed by their parents. She has previously toured the U.K. and Europe in Thriller Live. In a press statement, she said, "I’m a huge Michael Jackson fan and I identify with him. I'm an eighties baby - I come from the same era. When he died I literally cried every day for a year. His death reminded me how connected I felt to him as a person and musician, but I didn’t recognise how strong those links were until then. My favorite song I get to perform in the show is 'They Don’t Really Care About Us.' I get to feel the energy Michael gave when he sang, when it was recorded. I get right into that zone and I feel every word. We celebrate his incredible legacy in Thriller Live. His songs will never die."

In the show, she is one of four lead vocalists who divide up Jackson’s catalogue of chart hits between them.
