The Cleveland Play House's world premiere production of the Seth Greenland comedy, Jerusalem opens on March 16. Previews began on March 13. The show is being staged in the Drury Theatre and is scheduled to run through April 8. Production notes describe the show as the "centerpiece of CPH's 2001 Next Stage Festival of New Plays."

Directed by Peter Hackett, Jerusalem stars Stephen Kunken, Sue Anne Morrow, Susan Erickson, Steve McCue, Anne Guilbert, David Alan Novak and Ben Lipitz.

As reported, the play is based on a bizarre pilgrimage through "religious anxiety and the need for faith" as a psychiatrist and his patient (each from different faiths) go from dealing with someone who "refuses to accept that Martha Stewart is not the Messiah" to an "implausible group trip to the Holy Land." The creative team comprises scenic designer Michael Ganio, costume designer David Kay Mickelson, lighting designer Richard Winkler, sound designer Robin Heath and composer Lewis Flinn.
