Julianna Margulies, now rehearsing Jon Robin Baitz's Ten Unknowns at Lincoln Center Theater, Rosie Perez, due in Jose Rivera's References to Salvador Dali Make Me Hot at the Public this spring, and Glenn Close, who has netted her share of Tony Awards, will join The Vagina Monologues author Eve Ensler at a V-Day 2001 press conference on Jan. 17. The actresses will talk about V-Day, an annual event set to happen on Feb. 10 at Madison Square Garden in NYC. "V-Day" is a movement founded in 1998 to end violence against women. In the past, Ensler has spent the day instructing students in how to present The Vagina Monologues on their campus. Afterwards, participants took in a performance of the play.
Close, Margulies and Perez are expected to take part in "V-Day." Also due to be on hand are actresses Jane Fonda, Calista Flockhart, Winona Ryder, Claire Danes, Julia Stiles, Marisa Tomei, Ali McGraw, Marlo Thomas and singer Joan Osborne.
