One of Australia's most popular stars is becoming a producer. Colette Mann has obtained the rights to the musical I Do! I Do! and it will open at Capers Dinner Theatre on April 16.
Assuming her new role of producer, she is helping build Caper's developing reputation as Melbourne's leading venue for cabaret and intimate theatrical presentations.
A popular personality with Australian audiences, Mann has a strong musical comedy background (Grease,Guys and Dolls) as well as establishing a successful and diverse career in many other fields of the entertainment industry. Her portrayal of Doreen in the Australian TV series "Prisoner:Cell Block H" captured an international cult following.
A Two-hander chronicling the joys and trials of a long marriage,I Do! I Do! first played on Broadway in 1966 with Mary Martin and Robert Preston. Mann will star opposite Steve Kidd and be directed by Frank Gallacher. Mann plans to take the show on a national tour after the initial Melbourne season. Bookings (61-3- 98191797).
