The cable network filmed Long Story Short in front of a live audience this past February at Broadway's Helen Hayes Theatre. The 75-minute work, directed by Golden Globe Award-winning comedian Jerry Seinfeld, arrived on Broadway Oct. 22, 2010. It concluded its extended run March 5.

The HBO special is produced by Moffitt-Lee Productions in association with Brillstein Entertainment and CQE, Inc.; executive producers, Colin Quinn, Jerry Seinfeld, Brian Stern, Sandy Wernick; producers, Pat Tourk Lee and John Moffitt; director, John Moffitt.

Quinn began as a writer on "SNL" in 1995 and was a featured player on the late-night show through 1998, when he became a full-time cast member. He departed "SNL" in 2000. He made his Broadway debut with Colin Quinn: An Irish Wake in 1998.
