Entitled Broadway and Beyond, after his most recent CD release of the same name, he previously presented this evening of song at Toronto's Centre for the Arts in August 2011.
The new tour will commence at Cork's Opera House June 6-7, then continue to Dublin's Bord Gáis Energy Theatre June 10 and 17, Limerick's University Concert Hall June 13, Edinburgh's Playhouse June 20 and Cardiff's St. David's Hall June 29.
As well as Les Miserables, Wilkinson also created the role of the Phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera at its first outing at Lloyd Webber's private Sydmonton Festival in 1985, before playing the role in the show's Canada premiere in 1989, which he did for 1,700 performances.
He created the role of Che on the original 1976 recording of Evita, but didn't do the subsequent stage version, and the role(s) of Jekyll and Hyde on the original 1990 concept album of Frank Wildhorn's score.
