News Color Purple Star Offers One-Night Concert in New York City Aug. 21 Kingsley Leggs — Mister in Broadway's The Color Purple — will perform a one night-only evening of songs at New York City's Triad Theater, Aug. 21, with guest appearance from his musical castmates.

Jeff Waxman serves as musical director for the evening at the Triad, located at 158 W. 72nd Street, starting at 9 PM. Leggs will take on "his unique blend of R&B, blues and original music" as accompanied by piano, bass, drums and guitar. Fellow Purple stars Anika Ellis, Maia Nkenge Wilson and Rhett George will join Leggs on vocals for the evening which also features a tribute to Sammy Davis Jr.

The Broadway star has also appeared in Miss Saigon and the national tours of Ragtime, It Ain't Nothing But The Blues, Forbidden Hollywood as well as regional work in The Full Monty, Two Gentlemen of Verona, Chasing Nicolette, Violet, Almost Heaven, The House of Martin Guerre and Oedipus The King.

Tickets for the evening are $25 (plus a two-drink minimum) and are available by calling (212) 352-3101 or in person at The Triad Theater on West 72nd Street (between Amsterdam and Columbus Ave.) Aug. 21.
