National Tour News Come From Away Will Embark on a National Tour The Tony-nominated musical also has a sit-down production in Toronto in the works.

The new musical Come From Away—nominated for seven Tony Awards including Best Musical—will launch a national tour in October 2018. The traveling production will kick off at Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre.

Additional details, including dates, casting, and a full tour itinerary, will be announced at a later date.

The musical, which opened at Broadway’s Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre March 12, is set in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, where the population momentarily doubled in one day as 38 planes were grounded in the Canadian community in the wake of the September 11 attacks.

Come From Away features a book and score by husband-and-wife team Irene Sankoff and David Hein; the show marks the Broadway debut for both. The musical will also return to Toronto’s Royal Alexandra Theatre—where it played a pre-Broadway engagement—beginning February 13, 2018.
