News Comedian Joe Pasquale to Make West End Musical Debut as King Arthur in Monty Python's Spamalot UK stage and television comedian Joe Pasquale is to make his West End musical debut when he takes over as King Arthur in Monty Python's Spamalot, beginning performances June 17 for a six-week run through July 27.

He has previously appeared onstage in touring productions of Mel Brooks' The Producers, The Wizard of Oz and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, as well as numerous live stand-up shows including a 1996 tour Live and Squeaky that sold £1m of tickets. He has also appeared in six Royal Variety Performances.

On screen he has voiced characters for the Hollywood films "Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties" and "Horton Hears A Who!", and on TV he has hosted ITV1's "The Price Is Right" and "An Audience With Joe Pasquale," as well as guest presenting Channel 4's "The Paul O'Grady Show." He also won the 2004 series of "I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here" and also made it to round six of ITV1's "Dancing on Ice" in early 2013.

In a press statement, Pasquale has commented, "I'm very excited to be stepping into the shoes of King Arthur on stage with the cast of Spamalot. I’ve known Bonnie Langford since we worked together doing Peter Pan in 2000. The Spamalot Knights recently strong-armed Bonnie into joining twitter and she amassed over 1000 followers in her first week. When I saw she had joined up I sent her a message to welcome her as we'd lost touch for years. She invited me to see the show and I loved it so much that I went backstage afterwards to congratulate the cast. It was then that Bonnie said she thought I'd make a great King Arthur and the next thing that I knew, the show's producers spoke to my agent and it went from there very quickly. I’m now looking forward to a great summer of making audiences laugh at the Playhouse Theatre during six weeks filled with killer rabbits, flying cows and coconuts."

After he completes his season in Spamalot, he will then embark on The Joe Pasquale Summer 2013 Tour from Aug. 1 through Aug. 26, and then star in a UK tour of Ha Ha Holmes! The Hound of the Baskervilles from Sept. 2.
