News Company of Angels Comes Up Roses, Jan. 7, 2000 The Company of Angels, in association with Peter Goodman, will unveil its production of Frank D. Gilroy's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, The Subject Was Roses, Jan. 7, 2000 at the Angels Theatre in Silver Lake. Goodman directs a cast that includes Steve Gunning, Susan Kussman and Matthew T. Wilson.

The Company of Angels, in association with Peter Goodman, will unveil its production of Frank D. Gilroy's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, The Subject Was Roses, Jan. 7, 2000 at the Angels Theatre in Silver Lake. Goodman directs a cast that includes Steve Gunning, Susan Kussman and Matthew T. Wilson.Gilroy's play deals with Timmy Cleary, who returns from the horrors of WW II to the Bronx in May 1946. His parents are happy to see him return but, locked into a private war of their own, are unable to overcome their marital problems. Timmy is finally able to understand the family dynamics which have influenced his behavior -- but not before a blowup is triggered by an innocent gift of roses.

Roses will bloom through Feb. 13 at the Angels Theatre, 2106 Hyperion Ave. For tickets and information call (323) 883-1717.
