Set designer Bob Crowley (Carousel, The Judas Kiss) and composer William Finn (Falsettoland) will be the first two guests of a new series of discussions between artists and theatregoers designed by Lincoln Center Theatre. The "Platform" discussions, as they're called, are modeled after a similar program at the Royal National Theatre in London.
Crowley will inaugurate the series on July 15, at 6:30 PM in the lobby of the Vivian Beaumont Theatre. For an hour prior to that night's performance of Twelfth Night (which, incidentally, features a Crowley set), the designer will discuss his career and craft.
The series continues on July 22, when Finn will participate in a talk with Ira Weitzman, associate producer of A New Brain, the new Finn musical currently playing at Lincoln Center's Mitzi E. Newhouse Theatre.
The Platform discussions are open to everyone and free of charge, but seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. The series is made possible through a grant form the Charles E. Culpeper Foundation.
