News Composer Lutvak Returns to Joe's Pub; Musical Wayside Optioned for Stage Singer/songwriter Steven Lutvak will return to the intimate stage of Joe's Pub in February and March.

The composer, whose works can be heard on the Pemaco RD Records CD "The Time It Takes," will perform at the Public Theater's cabaret room Feb. 24 and March 3 (at 7:30 PM) and March 2 and 9 (at 7 PM). Lutvak's songs include "I Just Wanted You to Know," "Rewriting History," "Those of Us Who Knew James," "Debbie & Teddy & Me," "I'll Imagine You a Song" and "The House That I Grew Up In." Steven Lutvak is the composer-lyricist — with librettist and co-lyricist Ron McGee — of The Wayside Inn, a new musical based on A.R. Gurney's 1975 play, The Wayside Motor Inn. The musical received private N.Y.C. readings this past summer and was recently optioned by Thoroughly Modern Millie co-producer Mick Leavitt; a Chicago premiere looks likely.

A multiple MAC Award winner, Lutvak has offered evenings of his original tunes at the Russian Tea Room, the Algonquin Hotel's Oak Room, the Rose Garden, the Gardenia and the Carnegie Recital Hall. Lutvak is also a vocal coach for such luminaries as Marisa Tomei, Donna Murphy and Laura Benanti.

There is a $20 cover charge for the Joe's Pub shows, and reservations may be made by calling (212) 239-6200; those wishing to have dinner before the performance should call (212) 539-8770. Joe's Pub is located within the Public Theater at 425 Lafayette Street; go to www.joespub.com for more information.
