Bayview Records has released a third document of the Town Hall series of show tune concerts known as Broadway by the Year.

The Broadway Musicals of 1940 was recorded live April 15, 2002, and features Bryan Batt, Rob Evan, John Dossett, Natalie Douglas and Julie Reyburn singing songs — in a cabaret concert form — from Meet the People, Higher and Higher, Boys and Girls Together, Panama Hattie, Pal Joey, Hold Onto Your Hats, All in Fun, Cabin in the Sky, Walk with Music, Keep Off the Grass and Louisiana Purchase.

The disc includes commentary by the series creator and curator Scott Siegel. The tracks include:
