News Conor McPherson and Truman Capote Will Be Featured in Irish Rep's 2014-15 Season Irish Repertory Theatre will present a revival of Conor McPherson's Port Authority, the New York premiere of A Christmas Memory — based on the Truman Capote short story and Hugh Leonard's Da in its upcoming season.

Due to theatre renovation that will commence this fall at its home base, The Irish Rep’s productions will be presented at the DR2 Theatre.

The season-at-a-glance follows.

Sept. 24-Nov. 16
Opens Oct. 2
With scenic design by Charlie Corcoran, costume design by Linda Fisher, lighting design by Michael Gottlieb, sound design by M. Florian Staab, and music by Ryan Rumery.

"Port Authority is the story of three generations of Irish men: Kevin, a rudderless young man falling for his female roommate who doesn't reciprocate; Dermot, in middle age, mistakenly launched into a job he cannot handle; and Joe, a widower who hordes a lifelong romantic passion."

A Christmas Memory
Based on the classic Truman Capote short story
Book by Duane Poole
Music by Larry Grossman,
Lyrics by Carol Hall
Directed by Charlotte Moore
Nov. 25-Jan. 4, 2015
Opens Dec. 4
With scenic design by James Noone, costume design by David Toser, and lighting design by Brian Nason.

"A Christmas Memory is an elegant, old-fashioned, musical celebration of a traditional Southern Christmas. A Christmas Memory, set in Alabama in 1933, tells the story of young Buddy who is being raised by three eccentric cousins, and their last, precious, Christmas together at home. As Buddy and Aunt Sook gather ingredients for their 'World Famous Christmas Fruitcake' (one that will go 'directly to the Roosevelts in the White House!'), we are drawn back into a sweetly innocent world filled with a warmth and emotion that has all but disappeared."

Da
By Hugh Leonard
Directed by Charlotte Moore
Jan. 14-March 8
Opens Jan. 22

"Hugh Leonard's classic memory play, Da is set in Dublin in the 1960s. Charlie returns to his childhood home after his father's funeral only to find his father's ghost stubbornly unwilling to leave the house or his son's mind. As Charlie rustles through his father's belongings, he surrenders to memories – both hilarious and wrenching -and the complex life of his adoptive upbringing appears before our eyes."
