News   Contestant Eliminated from "American Idol"; Top Six Now Remain
Tim Urban was eliminated from this season's "American Idol" — often a stepping stone to the Broadway stage — April 21 following a public vote. The announcement was made during the live broadcast of "Idol Gives Back," the annual fundraiser that was introduced this year by the President and the First Lady.

Aaron Kelly and Casey James were the other two contestants who received the lowest votes of the week.

For this week's competition, Grammy winner Alicia Keys mentored the finalists, who performed inspirational tunes on the April 20 broadcast.

The six contestants who are currently vying for the "America Idol" title are Aaron Kelly, Casey James, Crystal Bowersox, Lee Dewyze, Michael Lynche and Siobhan Magnus.

Among the many "American Idol" finalists and/or winners who have appeared on Broadway are Fantasia (The Color Purple), Diana DeGarmo and Ace Young (both back on Broadway in Hair), Tamyra Gray, Constantine Maroulis (on Broadway in Rock of Ages), Frenchie Davis, Clay Aiken and Taylor Hicks (currently in the national tour of Grease).
