A Tony nominee for her dual roles in last season's dramatic epic Coram Boy, Elbrick will succeed actress Marin Ireland in the role of Laura.

Elbrick joins a company that includes Jenn Colella (High Fidelity) in the title role, David Greenspan (Some Men), Carolyn Baeumler (Trouble in Paradise), Autumn Dornfeld (The Graduate) and Bill Dawes (Gross Indecency).

Elbrick trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and The Actors Studio in New York City. Her stage credits include Mrs. Warren's Profession, Cabaret, A Doll's House, Oklahoma! and The Vagina Monologues as well as the Williamstown Theatre Festival productions of Anything Goes, I Have Loved Strangers and The Miracle Worker.

A 2008 GLAAD Media Award winner, Beebo Brinker began performances Off-Broadway Feb. 19 and officially opened at 37 Arts Theatre March 5. Lily Tomlin, Jane Wagner, Harriet Newman Leve, Elyse Singer, Jamie deRoy, Pam Laudenslager, Douglas Denoff, and Double Play Connections produce the limited engagement, running through April 27.

Penned by Kate Moira Ryan (25 Questions for a Jewish Mother) and Linda S. Chapman (Gertrude and Alice: A Likeness to Loving), the pre-Stonewall Greenwich Village-set work "follows the lives and loves of Laura, Beth and Beebo as they navigate uncharted territories of desire," according to press materials. "Former secret lovers in college, Laura and Beth went on to completely disparate lives — one got married and had children, the other moved to New York. "Both pine for each other, but before they can reunite, they find themselves entangled in the web of Beebo Brinker, a butch denizen of the bars with a soft spot for young lesbians fresh off the bus." The design team features Rachel Hauck (set), Theresa Squire (costumes), Nicole Pearce (lights) and Jill BC DuBoff (sound).

Leigh Silverman (Well) directs the stage adaptation of Bannon's original 1950's and 60's lesbian pulp novels.
