News Could Rocker Alice Cooper Be Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark's Next Green Goblin? Rock singer and songwriter Alice Cooper, who recently concluded a tour with heavy metal singer Marilyn Manson and is continuing to tour the globe with his "Raise the Dead" show, is in negotiations to join Broadway's Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark, according to the New York Post.

Although the Post reported that the idea of casting Cooper as Norman Osborn/Green Goblin comes from the show's producer, Michael Cohl, a spokesperson for Spider-Man told Playbill.com that there is "no news" regarding Cooper.

The musical, which currently features Robert Cuccioli (Jekyll & Hyde) as Norman Osborn/Green Goblin, features music and lyrics by 22-time Grammy Award winners Bono and The Edge and a book co-written by Julie Taymor, Glen Berger and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, with direction by Taymor and additional direction by Philip William McKinley.
