A musical about the life of country music star Dean Dillon with Broadway aims is currently in the works, according to Billboard. Dillon is collaborating with playwright, director, and producer Dewey Moss (The Crusade of Connor Stephens) on the show.

The autobiographical jukebox musical is titled Tennessee Whiskey: The Musical after George Jones’ 1983 country hit (penned by Dillon), as well as the 2017 documentary on the singer-songwriter. Moss told Billboard that he is in the process of lining up a creative team and securing a venue for the debut production.
