Mark Roberts pokes fun at couples in marriage counseling in his new 55-minute comedy Couples Counseling Killed Katie premiering Aug. 4 at the Powerhouse Theatre for a one- month run. Yvette S. Taylor is the director.

Roberts and Jessica Tuck play seven different couples seeking relationship advice in this satirical look at the "get-help" syndrome. Roberts is a stand-up comic, actor and writer who has performed in numerous comedy clubs. He has also guested on many TV shows such as "The Naked Truth" and "Seinfeld." Tuck has a recurring role on CBS's "Judging Amy," starring Amy Brenneman.

Taylor is executive vice president of All Girl Productions, the production company of Bette Midler and Bonnie Bruckheimer, who are currently producing the new series "Bette" premiering on CBS this fall. The executive producer of Couples is Andrew Barrett-Weiss, new head of the Powerhouse Theatre. The theatre has undergone a major renovation and now boasts of new carpeting, 75 new cushioned seats, a state- of-the-art sound and lighting system, and a redwood deck patio for pre- and post-show gatherings.
