News Courtney's Quiver and Twitch Begins at New York Stage and Film July 21 What if Dick Cheney lived in your basement?

That's one of the unsettling questions asked by Quiver and Twitch, a new play by Erin Courtney that will get a brief staging July 21-23 at Vasser Collage's Shiva Theatre, as part of the 2006 New York Stage and Film summer season. Sarah Benson will direct a cast that includes Kevin Augustine, Francois Battiste, Gibson Frazier, Peter Maloney and Jennifer R. Morris.

Quiver wants to know, "What if your super had been a prisoner of war? What if you keep dreaming that your apartment has extra rooms? [This] is a play that follows a family through a terrain of dreams, political anxieties, and parenting manuals. Using puppetry, dreamlike imagery and humor, the play smashes the domestic, the fantastic, and the political into one very small apartment in a big city in the U.S."

Courtney's other plays include Demon Baby.
