The dramedy, written and executive-produced by Krista Vernoff ("Grey’s Anatomy"), will feature music by Grammy Award-winning songwriter Diane Warren, who also serves as a consulting producer.

The project will center on a songwriter in her thirties who has written the most epic love songs of the time, yet is very unlucky when it comes to her own love life. Although the plot represents a fictionalized version of Warren's career, the central character is original and not based on Warren.

Warren's songs will be "organically integrated" into the story — in a different manner from "Smash." The duo, who have been friends with the songwriter for over a decade, previously attempted to develop a project using her songbook in 2005.

Warren's catalog of songs includes LeAnn Rimes' "How Do I Live," Celine Dion's "Because You Loved Me" (Grammy winner for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture), Toni Braxton's "Unbreak My Heark," Aerosmith's "I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing," Starship's "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now," Gloria Estefan and *N Sync's "Music of My Heart," Faith Hill's "There You'll Be" and Cher's "You Haven't Seen the Last of Me," among many others.

The project stems from Zadan and Meron's first-look deal with Universal Television and NBCUniversal. The duo also produced Hollywood's "Chicago" and "Hairspray" as well as Broadway's Promises, Promises and How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. As previously announced, they will also produce the upcoming 85th Academy Awards.
