News Crime or Emergency Will Play Limited Run at Soho Rep Playwright and actress Sibyl Kempson has teamed with musician Mike Iveson for Crime or Emergency, which will play a limited engagement at Soho Rep.

Crime or Emergency — running Jan. 11-13, 2008 — "distills Kempson's 11-person play into a rapturous, desperate and harried duet," production notes state. "Inner personal violences take hold and multiply. Witness the life-or death hoo-ha that threatens to be swallowed whole by Iveson's demonic arrangements of the indigenous music of their native New Jersey."

John Collins is the directorial consultant for Crime or Emergency with Andi Stover serving as dramaturge.

Kempson has written and performed This Property is Bauhaus!, Bad Girls Good Writers, (In)Communicable and It's a Good Life If You Don't Weaken. Her upcoming film is titled "Spargel Time."

Mike Iveson has previously worked with cutting-edge dance innovator Sarah Michelson, as well as on PS 122's The Lucy Show and Ode to a Man Who Kneels.
