News Cromwell Is Scrooge in McCarter Theatre's A Christmas Carol David Cromwell, last on Broadway in Frank Wildhorn's The Scarlet Pimpernel, will play Ebenezer Scrooge in the McCarter Theatre's upcoming production of A Christmas Carol.

Michael Unger will direct the Charles Dickens holiday classic, which plays the New Jersey theatre Dec. 7-24. Opening night is scheduled for Dec. 10. Cromwell will be joined onstage by The Lion King's Price Waldman as Bob Cratchit, Man of La Mancha's Don Mayo as Mr. Fezzwig, Of Thee I Sing's Garrett Long as Fan and Brad Heberlee as Young Scrooge. The company also features James Ludwig (Nephew Fred), Aloysius Gigl (Jacob Marley), Susan Pellegrino (Mrs. Dilber), Anne O'Sullivan (Mrs. Fezziwig), Nora Cole (Christmas Present), Susan Knight (Mrs. Cratchit) and Grace Hsu (Lily and Belle). On Broadway David Cromwell has been seen in The Scarlet Pimpernel, Me and My Girl, The Mystery of Edwin Drood and A History of the American Film. The actor has also appeared in the McCarter Theatre's productions of Romeo and Juliet and The School for Scandal.
