News Crouse, O'Brien, Shipley, Horovitz, Batistick, Set for Gloucester Stage Lindsay Crouse, an Academy Award nominee for "Places in the Heart," will be a part of the newly announced 28th season at Gloucester Stage in Gloucester, MA.

Crouse will star in the solo show The Belle of Amherst by William Luce, based on the writings of Emily Dickinson.

That play will be presented in repertory with Dear Liar by Jerome Kilty, which stars Gloucester Stage regulars and Broadway veterans Sandra Shipley (Broadway's Indiscretions and The Deep Blue Sea) and Paul O'Brien (Broadway's Twelfth Night and King Lear). The play is adapted from the correspondence of George Bernard Shaw and Mrs. Patrick Campbell.

The season will also include The Widow's Blind Date by Israel Horovitz, about a reunion of three former high school classmates; Ponies by Mike Batistick, about two men gambling on horses at a Lower East Side off-track betting establishment; the world premiere of Our Son's Wedding by Donna de Matteo; and Yvette Heyliger's Hillary and Monica: The Winter of Her Discontent, about a fictional meeting between the former First Lady and White House intern.
