The Casting Society of America will host a town hall conversation with and for transgender actors April 3 at the Actors' Equity building, moderated by Pooya Mohseni. The event is part of CSA’s “Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion in Casting Initiative,” a series of discussions and workshops designed to bring about change in how actors in underrepresented communities access job opportunities.

The session is open to union and non-union artists who are professional actors and those actively pursuing professional careers as performers. CSA will also live-stream the event through Facebook Live and will take questions and comments via Twitter for those who cannot attend in person.

Mohseni is an Iranian/American actor and transgender advocate, as well as a defender of immigrant issues and women’s issues. The aim of the town hall will be to discuss how CSA might better and more consistently work to increase audition opportunities and advocate for transgender actors, and for all parties to better understand the practical issues they encounter in their respective professions.

The meeting will be held in the Equity Council Room at 6:30 PM. Capacity is limited; to RSVP, CSA members and actors should email, noting their affiliation, name, phone number, and any disability requests, to csadiversityny@gmail.com.

The Actors' Equity Building is located at 165 West 46th Street, 14th Floor, New York.
