PlayBlog "Curtain Up!" Goes Behind the Scenes of Broadway's Jersey Boys (Video) PIX11's "Curtain Up!" Broadway week series goes backstage with the stars of the Tony Award-winning hit musical Jersey Boys. Here, PIX 11 host Laurie Dhue visits the August Wilson Theatre for a tour of the venue and chats with the show's stars, including Jarrod Spector, who plays Frankie Valli.


Dhue also tries on Jersey Boys costumes and checks out the projection design. In the Broadway week "Curtain Up!" series, PIX11 visits Broadway's best for a glimpse of what goes on behind-the-scenes before the curtain rises at 8 PM. "Curtain Up!" recently visited the Palace to check out the action at Priscilla Queen of the Desert. To watch the clip, click here.

Jersey Boys is the winner of the 2006 Best Musical Tony Award, the 2006 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album, the 2009 Olivier Award for Best New Musical and the 2010 Helpmann Award for Best Musical (Australia).

The musical is the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi. According to press notes, "This is the story of how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. They wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide — all before they were 30."
