Holbrook, who plays Lucas Beineke, joins a company that features Tony Award nominee Douglas Sills (The Scarlet Pimpernel) as Gomez, Sara Gettelfinger (Nine) as Morticia, Tony Award nominee Martin Vidnovic (Brigadoon) as Mal Beineke, Gaelen Gilliland (Wicked) as Alice Beineke, Blake Hammond (Sister Act) as Uncle Fester, Pippa Pearthree (Boeing-Boeing) as Grandma, Tom Corbeil (La Bohème) as Lurch, Patrick D. Kennedy as Pugsley and Cortney Wolfson (The Addams Family, Les Miserables) as Wednesday. Zachary James plays Lurch, the role he originated in the original Broadway production, during the tour's engagement in Dallas.
Following the run in Dallas, which continues through Oct. 21, the musical will stop in Seattle (Oct. 24–Nov. 11), Salt Lake City (Nov. 13–18), Las Vegas (Nov. 20–25), Tempe (Dec. 11–16) and Costa Mesa (Dec. 18–30).
Rounding out the cast as ancestors are Sara Andreas, Lauryn Ciardullo, Steve Geary, Victoria Huston-Elem, Megan Jimenez, Patrick Oliver Jones, Lizzie Klemperer, Michelle Marmolejo, Christy Morton, Brad Nacht, Jonathan Ritter, Murray Rundus, Roland Rusinek, Matthew Schmidt and Geo Seery.
The Addams Family, according to producers, "features an original story and it's every father's nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. A man her parents have never met. And if that weren't upsetting enough, she confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he's never done before - keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday's 'normal' boyfriend and his parents."
The Brazilian production of The Addams Family continues performances in Sao Paulo as separate productions are set to premiere in Sydney, Australia, in March 2013 and Buenos Aires, Argentina, in June 2013. The Addams Family national tour features a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice and a score by Andrew Lippa. The production is directed and designed (sets and costumes) by Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch with creative consultation by Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks and choreography by Sergio Trujillo.
The production features lighting design by Natasha Katz, sound design by Acme Sound Partners and puppetry by Basil Twist. The production also features music supervision by Mary-Mitchell Campbell, music direction by Ben Whiteley, orchestrations by Larry Hochman, dance arrangements by August Eriksmoen, hair design by Tom Watson, make-up design by Angelina Avallone and special effects design by Greg Meeh.
The North American tour of The Addams Family premiered in New Orleans in September 2011, and has played over 350 performances to date.
