Leicester’s Curve has announced several additional Made at Curve productions for its 2024 season.

Joining Curve’s previously announced production of Lerner and Loewe’s My Fair Lady will be an adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, a community production of the Leicester City Football Club-inspired drama Fantastic Foxes, a revival of Katori Hall’s The Mountaintop, and a world-premiere adaptation of Claire Freedman and Ben Cort’s picture book Pirates Love Underpants. The theatre will also welcome the new musical SuperYou in the fall.

Curve and De Montfort University will present the new retelling of Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. Adapted and directed by Curve Associate Director Cara Nolan, performances are scheduled for June 13–15 featuring drama students from the university.

Fantastic Foxes, the story of Leicester, its people, and its award-winning football club, will play the Curve Studio Theatre beginning July 26. Written by Curve Resident Creative Rob Ward, the production will continue through August 3.

Hall’s The Mountaintop, about Dr. Martin Luther King's last night on earth, will be directed by Nathan Powell (Sucker Punch, Dogs, The Lies You Tell), who helmed a reading of the Olivier-winning play for the Curve last year. The cast will again feature Ray Strasser-King (Sucker Punch) and Justina Kehinde (Girl From the North Country). The Curve and MAST Mayflower Studios co-production will run in Curve’s Studio Theatre September 21-October 5 before visiting MAST Mayflower Studios October 9-12.

Curve's family Christmas show, Pirates Love Underpants, will be adapted for the stage by Brad Fitt. Directed by Cara Nolan, performances are scheduled for December 2-January 5, 2025.

SuperYou will come to the Curve as a full production, running October 22-November 9. With a book, music, and lyrics by Lourds Lane, the musical played two sold-out Carnegie Hall concerts in 2022 and a concert at the Lyric Theatre in the West End in November 2023. The musical follows the journey of a woman who reconnects with her dreams when her superheroine creations come to life.

Curve Chief Executive Chris Stafford and Artistic Director Nikolai Foster said in a joint statement, "We are proud to announce these upcoming Curve shows, which reflect the theatre’s ambition to continue presenting great plays and works which celebrate stories close to home and from across the globe."
