News Cyndi Lauper Among 2014 Songwriters Hall of Fame Nominees Tony Award-winning Kinky Boots composer Cyndi Lauper is among the nominees for the 2014 Songwriters Hall of Fame, according to the Associated Press.

In addition to Cyndi Lauper, nominees include Madonna, John Mellencamp, Ray Davies, Sade, Linda Perry, Vince Gill, Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards, Donovan, Cat Stevens, Harry Wayne Casey, Heart's Ann and Nancy Wilson and Led Zeplin's Jimmy Page and Robert Plant.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame gala will be held June 12, 2014, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York.

Lauper won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Original Score to Kinky Boots. Featuring a book by Harvey Fierstein, Kinky Boots also took Tonys for Best Musical, Best Orchestrations (Stephen Oremus), Best Choreography (Jerry Mitchell), Best Actor (Billy Porter) and Best Sound (John Shivers).
