News D'Abruzzo and Stanek Will Join South Pacific's Psomas for Aug. 4 Concert George Psomas, the 2007 winner of the NYMF-sponsored Broadway Idol competition, will perform a solo concert at the Zipper Factory Aug. 4.

A current cast member of the heralded Lincoln Center Theater revival of South Pacific, Psomas will be joined onstage by special guests Stephanie D'Abruzzo (Avenue Q Tony nominee) and Jim Stanek (Little Women).

The 10 PM concert will be directed by NYMF director of programming Jess McLeaod and feature musical direction by Jana Zielonka. The performers will be backed by musicians Brad Russell and Jay Mack.

Ten contestants competed for the title of Broadway Idol in the three-week competition that is sponsored by the New York Musical Theatre Festival. Psomas' winning selections included "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" from Roberta and Company's "Being Alive."

Prior to making his Broadway debut in South Pacific, Psomas' regional credits included Godspell, Once Upon a Time in New Jersey, Made in America: Irving Berlin and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
