News Daly, Roberts to Appear in Food for Thought Readings Tyne Daly and Tony Roberts are among the performers who will appear in upcoming lunchtime play readings in the Food for Thought series at the Players Club.

On Nov. 29 Daly will star with Amy Van Nostrand and Michael Countryman in two one-acts: The Stronger by August Strindberg and The Yellow Wallpaper, Food for Thought Artistic Director Susan Charlotte's adaptation of Charlotte Perkins Gilman's short story of that name. Daly directs. On Dec. 7 Roberts and Lynn Cohen (Golda Meir in "Munich") will star in another set of two one-acts: Tennessee Williams' The Enemy: Time, an early one-act draft of Williams' play Sweet Bird of Youth; and Youth, Charlotte's adaptation of the Joseph Conrad short story of that name. Antony Marsellis directs.

Lunch begins at 12:30 PM, and the plays begin at 1:30 PM, with a question-and-answer session to follow.

Daly most recently appeared on Broadway in Rabbit Hole and won a Tony Award in 1990 for her performance as Rose in Gypsy. She has also starred in television series such as "Cagney & Lacey" and "Judging Amy" and has won six Emmy Awards.

Roberts has starred on Broadway in such shows as How Now, Dow Jones; Jerome Robbins' Broadway; Sugar; Absurd Person Singular; Don't Drink the Water; Doubles; They're Playing Our Song; Victor/Victoria; The Tale of the Allergist's Wife; the original Broadway production of Barefoot in the Park; and the play's recent Broadway revival. He starred in the Broadway play Play It Again, Sam and the film adaptation of the same name. His other film credits include "Annie Hall" and "Serpico."
