First it was a Fellowship, now a Best Actress Award: Dame Judi Dench is currently BAFTA's favourite actress.
The Best Actress Award was for "Iris," the film version of novelist Iris Murdoch's life and her struggle with Alzheimer's disease in her last years.
The award will be a useful boost - as if one were needed - to the box office when she and Dame Maggie Smith appear together in David Hare's new play Breath of Life, which will be staged in London this September: exact dates and venue are still to be confirmed.
