Lauria (as Omar) will head the cast of The Winning Streak, which plays the New Jersey theatre Jan. 4-30, 2005. Lucie Tiberghien directs; the cast will also include Brennan Brown as Lauria’s long-lost son Ryland. Playwright Blessing is the author of A Walk in the Woods and Cobb. The Winning Streak, according to production notes, concerns "Ryland, the offspring of a one-night-stand some 30 years ago, [who] has absolutely no interest in baseball. His newly found father is a retired major league umpire who lives within earshot of the ballpark and can barely divert his attention from the game. Can this father and son 'odd couple' find any common ground on which to build a relationship this late in the game?"

Best known for his role as the grumpy dad on TV's "The Wonder Years," Dan Lauria's Off-Broadway credits include The Guys, A Bronx Tale, Other People's Money, Marlon Brando Sat Right Here and Game Plan. He also appeared at the George Street Playhouse in Inspecting Carol.

The George Street Playhouse is located in New Jersey at 9 Livingston Avenue. Tickets are available by calling (732) 246-7717 or by visiting www.georgestplayhouse.org.
