The evening launches Lyrics & Lyricists Downtown, the new series at the 92nd Street Y's downtown arts and culture venue. Arden had to withdraw from the evening because his film shoot has been extended. Playwright Terrence McNally will host the performance, which will also feature Quentin Earl Darrington, Kecia Lewis-Evans and Christiane Noll. Show time is 7:30 PM.

The songwriting duo, according to press notes, will talk "about their craft and their experiences in musical theatre with Flaherty at the piano, joined by [an array of] vocalists."

Tony winner Ahrens told Playbill.com that audiences can expect to hear songs from "Anastasia," Once On This Island, Ragtime, Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Dessa Rose, The Glorious Ones, A Man of No Importance and Seussical.

In addition to winning the Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards for Ragtime, Ahrens and Flaherty received Tony nominations for Once on This Island and Grammy nominations for Ragtime and Seussical. Host McNally penned the books for Ahrens and Flaherty's Ragtime and A Man of No Importance.
