Additional theatre talents are joining New York State Gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon for Broadway Blue Wave for New York, an August 26 concert and political rally for the upcoming New York State primary.

Conceived and produced by Wicked alum Kristy Cates and Harris Doran, the evening is part concert, part progressive political rally and will feature musical performances and speeches to inspire New Yorkers to head to the polls September 13 for the State Primary.

Newly-added are Daphne Rubin-Vega (Rent), Tony Yazbeck (On the Town), Steven Boyer (Hand to God), and Caesar Samayoa (Come From Away), who join a lineup including Tony Award winner Laura Benanti (returning to Broadway this fall in My Fair Lady), Emmy winner Edie Falco, Pose star Mj Rodriguez, Hamilton’s Javier Muñoz, Tony nominee Kathleen Chalfant, and Orange Is the New Black cast members Annie Golden and Taylor Schilling.

Also speaking will be political activists Shanequa Charles (Criminal Justice Reform), Tereza Lee (the original DREAMer), Jay W. Walker (Rise & Resist), as well as New York State Senate candidates Julie Goldberg, Robert Jackson, John Liu, Jessica Ramos, and Jasmine Robinson.

Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 Tony nominee Rachel Chavkin is set to direct; Mary-Mitchell Campbell will serve as music director.

Proceeds from the evening will benefit Cynthia for New York and No IDC NY. Additional participants will be announced in the coming days.
