Rubin-Vega, who was Tony-nominated for her performances in Rent and Anna in the Tropics, will play a Broadway publicist on the series. According to EW.com, she will not appear in any scenes with former Rent co-star Jesse L. Martin, and she will not sing.
Rubin-Vega has also been seen on Broadway in The Rocky Horror Show, Les Misérables and, most recently, A Streetcar Named Desire. Her television credits include "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" and "New York Undercover," among others.
She will join previously announced Season Two additions "Hairspray" actress Nikki Blonsky, stage and screen actor Martin (Rent), Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson, Tony Award nominees Jeremy Jordan and Sean Hayes, and Andy Mientus of Off-Broadway's Carrie.
For the series' second season, Josh Safran succeeds Theresa Rebeck (Seminar) as showrunner — the person in charge of all aspects of the story.
