Glee, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and American Crime Story star Darren Criss has signed a deal to write and star in a new musical series Royalties for the Quibi, the new streaming platform from Jeffrey Katzenberg that’s slated to launch next year.

Quibi (short for “quick bites”) content will be released in 10-minute chapters, tailored for viewing on mobile devices.

Royalties offers satirical portrait of the behind-the-scenes world of songwriting in the entertainment industry. The series will follow Sara and Pierce (Criss) as they create songs week after week for the biggest stars in the industry. Major names in the music industry are expected to play the fictitious pop stars featured on the series.

Emmy and Golden Globe winner Criss will pen the series along with Nick and Matt Lang.
