As Playbill.com announced in October, two-time Tony winner Patti LuPone will guest star on an upcoming episode of The CW’s hit musical comedy Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. At the time, LuPone’s role was unknown—as well as the official air date of the episode—but LuPone herself confirmed that she would guest alongside recurring star Tovah Feldshuh.

It has been reported that LuPone will appear on the January 13 episode.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, now in its second season, follows Rebecca Bunch, a young attorney who left her high-pressure low-happiness New York firm to follow her ex-boyfriend to West Covina, CA in Season 1. This season, Rebecca (played by creator Rachel Bloom) focuses a bit more on finding her own footing after (spoiler alert) things to do not go well with ex-boyfriend Josh, played by Vincent Rodriguez III.

LuPone will play the rabbi of Rebecca’s home congregation when she travels east for a family bar-mitzvah.

The actor told Playbill.com that she was “thrilled” to join the Crazy Ex family.
