News Daughter's Quest to Save Mom Becomes Fantastical in New Musical Tock Tick Prospect Theater Company will conjure the world premiere of the musical Tock Tick, a fantasy-steeped tale about a daughter's quest to save her mother, Feb. 3-March 4 in Manhattan.

With book and lyrics by Tim Nevits and music by Gihieh Lee, Tock Tick "tells a whimsical and touching tale of a child coming to terms with the loss of a parent," according to Prospect. "Twelve-year-old Chelsea Tickerman's mother has cancer. As the clock in the front hall steadily marks each passing moment, Chelsea can see the dragon of her mother's death, hovering. In a bold move, she embarks on a fantastical quest to slay this dragon and save her mother. Along the way, encounters with scientists, seagulls, interstellar gondoliers, and finally the clocksmith at the center of the universe bring Chelsea to a new understanding of life, death, and the nature of time. Along with its sophisticated and innovative musical voice, Tock Tick uses movement, inventive costumes and puppetry to both move and delight."

The musical is suitable for ages 9 and up. Tim Nevits and Gihieh Lee share story credit.
